We are now done with our Spanish classes and are returning to Madrid to meet the rest of the family. We took the subway to the train, the train to Madrid, and then the subway to a hotel. After dropping our stuff off we bought a loaf of bread, sandwich fixings, juice, and cookies, and had a picnic in the Parque del Buen Retiro, the “lungs” of Madrid. After eating we walked around and saw a book fair (there every weekend). We also got to see the Palacio de Cristal, which looked like an ornate greenhouse, and other exhibition spaces built for international exhibitions. We then walked back to the hotel and went to bed.
